After breakfast visit to Samker Gompa & Leh Bazaar. Samker Gompa
is little up in the valley, 3 Kms from Leh Town, which is open to
visitors in the morning and evening only. The Gompa belongs to
Yellow Sect & was founded in 18th Century. The Gompa is the seat of
the Head Lama of Ladakh & founder of yellow sect, Tson-Kha-Pa. The
temple walls have recent painted of figures including Sakyamuni,
Avalokiteshwara, Padmasambhava, Tson‐Ka‐pa and green Tara. After
Samker, visit Leh Monastery/Shanti Stupa and Leh Palace. Then visit
Ladakh hall of fame museum: The Hall of Fame is a glorious museum
constructed by the Indian Army. It is worth a visit for every
citizen. You can see the memorabilia, eminent defense personalities
with biographies, images and weapons used during the Kargil and
other key strategic battles fought in Ladakh and belongings of the
enemy soldiers found at war site. All the martyr and the gallantry

Day 03 Leh – Hemis - Shey - Thiksey - Leh
After leisurely breakfast, visiting Shey, Thiksey & Hemis. Shey
– it was the ancient capital of Ladakh and even after Singge Namgyal
built the more imposing palace at Leh, the kings continued to regard
Shey, as their real home. The importance which was attached to Shey
‐ the seat of Ladakh's heartland ‐ is attested by the enormous
number of Chorten about the village, particularly around the palace
complex and barren plain to the north of the road. Thiksey – is one
of the largest and most impressive Gompas. There are several temples
in this Gompa containing images, stupas and exquisite wall
paintings. It also houses a two storied statue of Buddha which has
the main prayer hall around its shoulder. Hemis – which is dedicated
to Padmasambhava, what a visitor can observes a series of scenes in
which the lamas, robed in gowns of rich, brightly colored brocade
and sporting masks sometimes bizarrely hideous, parade in solemn
dance and mime around the huge flag pole in the center of the
courtyard to the plaintive melody of the Shawn. The moan of the
eleven feet horns, the boom of drums and the clash of Cymbals. Hemis
was found in the 1630ʹs by Tsang‐ras‐pa under the royal patronage of
Singe Namgyal, Hemis is the largest and richest of the Ladakh
Gompas. It nestles into the mountain side a little way up a glen in

Day 04 Leh – Khardungla Pass - Leh

Pangong Tso (or Pangong Lake; Tso:
Ladakhi for lake) is a lake in the Himalayas situated at a height of
about 4,250 m (13,900 ft). It is 134 km (83.3 mi) long and extends
from India to China. Two thirds of the length of this lake lies in
China. The lake is 5 km (3 mi) wide at its broadest point. In winter,
the lake surface freezes completely despite being salt
water.
Pangong Tso can be reached in a five-hour drive from Leh, most of it
on a rough and dramatic mountain road. The road traverses the
third-highest pass in the world, the Changla pass, where army sentries
and a small teahouse greet visitors. The spectacular lakeside is open
during the tourist season, from May to September. A significant temple
stands below the peaks overlooking the village and the lake. The lake
is in the process of being identified under the Ramsar Convention as a
wetland of international importance. This will be the first
trans-boundary wetland in South Asia under the convention.
Day 01: Arrival - Leh – Airport: Arrival on Leh
Airport you will be met our representative. Meeting & assistance on
arrival and transfer to hotel. Mysterious dust –covered Leh sits in
a fertile side valley of the Indus, about 10 km from the river.
Encircled by stark awe-inspiring mountains with the cold desert
beyond. It is the nearest experiences of Tibet in India. Leh
developed as a trading post and market, attracting a wide variety of
merchants from Yarkand /, Kashgar, Kashmir, Tibet and North India.
Day at leisure for acclimatization. Overnight stay at hotel in Leh.
Day 02: Leh – Hemis / Shey / Thiksey: Morning,
proceed for full day city tour, visiting Shey, Thiksey & Hemis. Shey
– it was the ancient capital of Ladakh and even after Singge Namgyal
built the more imposing palace at Leh, the kings continued to regard
Shey, as their real home. The importance which was attached to Shey
- the seat of Ladakh's heartland - is attested by the enormous
number of Chorten about the village, particularly around the palace
complex and barren plain to the north of the road. Thiksey – is one
of the largest and most impressive Gompas. There are several temples
in this Gompa containing images, stupas and exquisite wall
paintings. It also houses a two - storied statue of Buddha which has
the main prayer hall around its shoulder. Hemis – which is
dedicated to Padmasambhava, what a visitor can observes a series of
scenes in which the lamas, robed in gowns of rich, brightly coloured
brocade and sporting masks sometimes bizarrely hideous, parade in
solemn dance and mime around the huge flag pole in the center of the
courtyard to the plaintive melody of the Shawn. The moan of the
eleven feet horns, the boom of drums and the clash of Cymbals. Hemis
was found in the 1630's by Tsang-ras-pa under the royal patronage of
Singe Namgyal, Hemis is the largest and richest of the Ladakh
Gompas. It nestles into the mountain side a little way up a glen in
the mountains of Zanskar range. Overnight stay at hotel in Leh.
Day 03: Leh – Chumathang – Tsomoriri: Morning
transfer to Tso-moriri via Chumathang renowned for sulpher hot
springs believed to cure all ailments. Check out from the hotel in
the morning and transfer to Chumathang by road. Halt at Upshi
checkpoint and continue drive up to Maha Bridge that is the main
checkpoint for entry. Visit Sumdah village en-route and finally
reach Tsomoriri Lake, the breeding ground for a wide variety of
fascinating birds. Overnight stay at Camp/Tents.
Day 04: Tos moriri: Morning, leave for a short visit to Korzok
village. Proceed to the lake at noon and visit the areas around it.
Return to the tents/Camp for overnight.
Day 05: Tsomoriri-Korzok–Puga–Tsokar–Tanglangla-Leh:
Morning get ready for visiting the most popular tourist sites of
Ladakh tour packages. Check out from the tents/camp and transfer by
road to Puga Valley via Mahe Village. Later proceed to Tsokar while
ascending the Polokongka Pass (13,500 ft.). Upon arrival, visit the
small Tsokar Lake and Thugke Gomp where you can see a number of wild
asses grazing around. Continue drive to Leh via NH (Leh - Manali)
road. Cross Tanglangla Pass (5350 m), world’s second highest
Motorable pass to reach Leh. Upon arrival in the evening, check in
to hotel for overnight stay.
Day 06: Leh – Pangong Lake: Morning transfer from
leh to Pangong Tso, the largest salt-water lake in Asia. Most of the
lake lies in Tibet, with only a quarter inside Ladakh. At a height
of 4,250 meters, this lake is fringed by the Pangong range to the
south and the Changchenmo range to the north. When the blue-green
waters are still, these massive mountains are reflected in all their
glory in the lake. In the distance you catch a glimpse of Tibet.
Many rare birds, including the Himalayan chakor and quail come to
nest in the lake., Overnight Stay at Camp/hotel at Pangong.
Day 07: Pangong Lake – Leh: after breakfast leave
for walk at Pangong Lake, a highest salt water lake in the World,
Shared by two countries India (25%) & China (75%), enjoy the beauty
of lake on banks of the lake while appreciating the changing colors
of fascinating high altitude lake. Overnight stay at hotel in leh.
Day 08: Leh – Nubra Valley (Tirith): Morning drive
for Nubra Valley by surface passing thru Horzey & Gangles Village.
The road then rises to reach Khardungla (5602 Mts.) the world's
highest Motorable road. Enjoy the landscape & the beautiful bird’s
eye view of the Leh town. Another 35 Kms drive takes to Khalsar at
Shyok Valley, where the scenery is all around. The road after
crossing Khalsar Bridge at Shyok River enters to the Nubra Valley &
then precedes alongwith the Nubra River. On arrival in Nubra Valley,
check-in at the Tented Camp at Tirith. Later on, drive upto Panamik
Hot Springs, which are rich in Sulphur contents & believed to have
medicinal benefits. Later return back to Sumur to visit Samstenling
Monastery, Next to the road at Sumur, which is 265 years old.
Overnight at camp at Tirith.
Day 09: In Nubra Valley (Tirith): Morning, visit
Deskit, the HQ town of Nubra Valley. Driving for 30 Kms takes to
Khalsar Bridge. Deskit can be approached by driving parallel to
Shyok River for 20 Kms. From the Historical & Tourist point of
view, Deskit is famous for 515 years old Deskit Buddhist Monastery,
lying magnificently situated on a hilltop, facing the entire Valley.
Further drive from Deskit to Hunder, another 8 – 10 Kms drive. At
Hunder, you may see a few Double Humped, Hairy and Bactrian Camels.
Enjoy an Optional Ride on Camels around the Sand Dunes of
Hunder. Later drive back on the same road to your camp at Tirith.
Overnight at camp at Tirith.
Day 10: Nubra Valley - Leh: Leave for Leh on the
same route you came in Nubra. Overnight in Hotel in Leh.
Day 11: Leh – Departure: In time transfer to
airport to connect the flight for Delhi. Meeting and assistance at
Leh Airport on Departure.
